Our Story
Zoocket started with one simple frustration: the cable holder that came with our home EV charger just wasn’t good enough. It felt flimsy, looked basic, and didn’t do the job as well as it should. We thought there had to be a better option.
That got Robert thinking. If a cable holder has to live on the wall every day, why should it look boring?
How it started
After buying an EV and getting a home charger installed, Robert decided to improve the basic cable holder with something stronger, better-designed and more secure. Once the practical problem was solved, a second idea followed — if a cable holder has to be on the wall, why not make it look better too?
That led to the first Zoocket design: a Labrador head, created so the charging cable could sit in a way that felt more decorative, more personal, and a lot more interesting than a standard bracket.
From one idea to a growing range
What began as one dog design quickly opened up into something bigger. The idea expanded into cats, farming, engineering, aviation, horses and more — all built around the same aim of turning a functional product into something people actually enjoy having on display.
Zoocket is a small UK business built in our spare time alongside our construction work. We are focused on creating original designs that feel different from the usual mass-produced options.
Testing the idea in the real world
The Cambridge Country Show was our first real-world test. The response was encouraging: plenty of people stopped, leaflets were taken, and the feedback was consistently positive. One thing we noticed straight away was how much children were drawn to the designs — especially the dog-themed pieces.
That early reaction gave us confidence that the idea had genuine appeal, not just as a practical holder, but as a product people enjoyed looking at too.
